The American Occupational Therapy Association has declared the month of April as Occupational Therapy Month. The Medical Center of Dimmitt April Spotlight: Nadia Reyna


The Medical Center of Dimmitt would like to spotlight one of their nurses, Nadia Reyna, for her dedication to providing compassionate care to the Castro County Community. Her love of helping people is what drew her to a career in nursing. Nadia has been at the Medical Center of Dimmitt for 13 years. “Everyone is like family,” said Reyna. “We take care of each other.” Reyna became a part of CCHD’s family in April 12, 2006. Country View Living’s Grand Opening


On March 26, 2019 Castro County Hospital District (CCHD) proudly presented their new long-term and senior living facility, Country View Living (CVL), to the community, with an exciting grand opening. Over 600 people from Castro County and the surrounding area came to see the 60-bed facility. Starbuck’s Is Now Open at Country View Living


If you have driven by the new long-term care and senior apartment living facility, Country View Living (CVL), this past week you may have noticed more cars than usual. The facility that was recently built at the intersection of Butler Blvd. and Front Street in Dimmitt, Texas opened their doors to the public on March 11, 2019, inviting them to come and enjoy a cup of coffee. Coming back to where it all began is Yesenia Carnero’s story. Country View Living Awaiting Inspections


Construction has been completed on Country View Living (CVL), the new senior living facility for Castro County Hospital District (CCHD).  The furniture and equipment have been delivered and setup along with the Starbucks kiosk.  The landscaping will be completed by March 20, 2019 according to Paradise Landscaping from Lubbock, Texas. CCHD is waiting for the Texas Department of Health and Human Services to schedule a life safety inspection according to Laura Kimball, Administrator for CVL.  The life safety inspection is a scheduled inspection that will last three to four days.  They will check the electrical, mechanical and fire systems along with [...]

Why Antibiotics Are Not Always the Answer


Castro County Healthcare wants to extend educational material to the community that will not only improve their health, but help them understand why their provider’s will either prescribe or not prescribe them antibiotics.   “A common cold and a bacterial infection are very different,” stated Linda Aguero, Clinic Director. “Your common cold or flu is a viral infection and antibiotics will not work.”   The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advises patients and their families to use antibiotics only when necessary to further reduce antibiotic resistance, the spread of superbugs, and protect patients from any antibiotic side effects.   [...]
