June is known as Men’s Health Month, and Castro County Healthcare wants to remind you that it is not too late to come in for your annual wellness exam. It is important to take charge in your health.
“Wellness visits help promote good health and early detection of disease,” said Rita McDaniel, CCHD Chronic Care Manager.
As you get older, it is good to have regular checkups and screenings. Annual wellness exams give CCHD the chance to update your records, review your medication lists, and gives the opportunity for your primary care provider to review your health.
It also provides you as a patient with education, counseling, and end-of-life planning, and referral to other screening and preventive services. Additional health related topics and screenings to discuss with your physician can include prostate health, colonoscopy, cardiovascular, nutritional, and even mental health.
The Medical Center of Dimmitt and Plains Memorial Hospital provide the services you need to start or continue your healthy lifestyle living. If you are 65 and older and on Medicare your annual wellness visits are free. The first step is to call 806-647-2194 today and schedule an appointment with your provider.
