Country View Living’s (CVL) focus on community and their residents has been a top priority since opening in March 2019. Their new Dietary Manger, Chas Fristoe’s, goals and focus falls in line with the newly opened senior living facility in Dimmitt, Texas.
Fristoe started at Country View Living on Thursday, May 30th with excitement and a determined drive. He comes to CVL after four years at West Texas A&M University (WTAMU) in Canyon, Texas where he was the Chef Manager. He has had a total of 17 years of experience in the food industry at multiple levels and positions such as a dishwasher, server, bartender, line cook, lead cook, and multiple kitchen manager positions.
“The restaurant business, and the food business is what I always wanted to work in,” said Fristoe.
He became a certified chef after completing culinary school at Le Cordon Bleu in Austin, Texas. This opportunity is a new experience for Fristoe. He is excited to be able to dig more into the science of food, and making each meal meet the dietary needs for each resident. Fristoe is working on becoming a certified nutritionist to make sure he is meeting all residents dietary needs. In the meantime he is using the Plains Memorial Hospital certified nutritionist.
Country View Living is a 60 bed facility with 26 of those currently occupied by residents. Fristoe hopes to help fill the place by creating an atmosphere that is inviting and food that is delicious to the residents. He wants to get to know the residents and wants them to know he is there to take care of them. A primary focus of Fristoe has always been customer service, making sure that the customer knows that they are going to be taken care of like family.
“I am a family man,” said Fristoe. “I am all about family, and about taking care of others families as well because of that. So when they come in here to eat, you know they will be taken care of.”
Country View Living still has the plan to open Luby’s Inc. to the public, but at this time their main focus is the residents, and making sure they are being taken care of. Follow them on Facebook at @CountryViewTx to keep up with upcoming news, or on their website at www.countryviewtx.com.
