Castro County Healthcare (CCHD) is excited to announce Dr. Refugio Alvarez, a new physician at the Medical Center of Dimmitt and Plains Memorial Hospital. His free time is spent with his family, friends, and watching or playing sports. Throughout high school and undergrad, Dr. Alvarez was active in sports. From coaching young teams, athletics in school, and refereeing throughout his college years.
Upon graduating from Hereford, Dr. Alvarez attend West Texas A&M University (WTAMU) in Canyon, Texas for his undergraduate degree. Dr. Alvarez likes that CCHD is close to home for him, and that he can be involved in a Family Practice where you can care for everyone from pediatrics to geriatrics.
“What I enjoy most is the patient, doctor relationship that you get to build and establish,” said Dr. Alvarez. “You get to take care of people when they really need it. It is a special kind of bond that you create, and it is very rewarding.”
