Last week during National Hospital Week CCHD had many events that honored those who provide quality healthcare to the Castro County Community. Even throughout all the food and fun CCHD raised $4,422.00 for one of their employee’s.
On Thursday, May 10th, CCHD with the help of Hands of Hope and the Plains Memorial Hospital Auxiliary held a ‘Fiesta Fundraiser’ for their friend and coworker, Betty Oltivero. Oltivero is waiting on a kidney transplant, and has a long road ahead of her. The money was raised by selling an enchilada plate for $7.00 with other donations welcomed.
“This will be a huge help to me,” said Oltivero. “I am very thankful for all the support.”
The dietary department at CCHD worked hard preparing and cooking the 800 beef enchiladas for the fundraiser. Each plate came with two beef enchiladas, rice and beans, and CCHD sold all 400 plates. There were also donations that helped make the fundraiser a huge success including Circle M Irrigations supplies donation, First United Bank donation of water bottles, Sonic’s donation of ice, and Higginbotham’s Brothers water trough donation.
If you happened to miss out on the fundraiser and would still like to help the Oltivero family, Frenz Foto is selling ‘Betty’s Buddies’ t-shirts for $18.00 until Friday, May 25, 2018. You may contact them at 806-240-5078 to purchase a shirt.
