Cologuard and DNA Stool Testing


Castro County Healthcare introduces Cologuard DNA stool testing through the Medical Center of Dimmitt. This DNA stool testing is intended to screen adults of either sex, 50 years or older, who are at average risk for colon cancer. Cologuard is also covered by Medicare. Don’t wait till fraud happens! The fight can begin now to protect yourself against fraudulent Medicare Card activities. Castro County Healthcare District wants to help you prepare and know what to look for. Medicare has begun sending out new Medicare cards. This means there could be a whole set of new scams. Be aware that Medicare or Social Security will not call, text, or email to tell you they are issuing these new cards, reprocessing cards, or assigning new numbers. Laura Kimball named Administrator at Country View Living


Country View Living is set to finish construction by December 27, 2018. With this date quickly approaching, Castro County Healthcare District (CCHD) has hired Laura Kimball as the Administrator at Country View Living. Kimball’s dreams and goals of becoming an Administrator for a long-term and assisted living facility led her back home. Let’s Fiesta Fundraise


DIMMITT – Castro County Healthcare invites the community to help support a family, friend, and team member of CCHD next Thursday, May 10thfrom 11 AM to 1:30 PM. There will be a ‘fiesta’ fundraiser to help support Betty Oltivero during her kidney transplant journey. CCHD shows their support for Child Abuse and Neglect Awareness Month


Castro County Healthcare hung blue ribbons on Wednesday, April 18 in support of Child Abuse and Neglect Awareness Month. 2018 Biggest Loser Winners


Lydia Davila wins $180.00 from Castro County Healthcare (CCH), by coming in first place, losing 10.60 percent, in the 2018 Biggest Loser Contest. On January 29, 2018, CCH started their sign-ups for the Biggest Loser Contest. Each contestant stepped on the same scale and began their weight loss journey. Paying $25.00 to participate, they received a free fitness membership to the fitness facility at CCH for the full two months of the competition. Dana Cobb named CCHD’s Chief of Nursing Officer


Castro County Hospital District is pleased to announce the promotion of Dana Cobb, RN to the position of Chief of Nursing Officer (CNO). Cobb has worked for CCHD for 20 years holding many positions including; Home Health Aide, RN for Home Health and Hospice, and has been a Charge Nurse with Plains Memorial Hospital. Cobb is certified in the Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), and CPR.
