This year, CCHD had 115 combine years of service recognized at their afternoon banquet on January 22, 2020. On that day, Jolene Schulte was recognized for 45 years of service, Gloria Hinojosa and Hortensia Ramirez for 20 years, Jamie Blasingame and Vicenta Martinez for 10 years, and Benny Navarro and Cathy Wilcox for five years. Country View Living (CVL), the new long-term living facility, in Dimmitt, TX is having another CNA class, starting in January 2020. CVL has already held four CNA classes this year (2019) and have had a 100% passing rate. A CNA is an important piece of the workflow at CVL. Castro County Healthcare wants to extend educational material to the community that will not only improve their health, but help them understand why their provider’s will either prescribe or not prescribe them antibiotics.   “A common cold and a bacterial infection are very different,” stated Linda Aguero, Clinic Director. “Your common cold or flu is a viral infection and antibiotics will not work.”   The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advises patients and their families to use antibiotics only when necessary to further reduce antibiotic resistance, the spread of superbugs, and protect patients from any antibiotic side effects.   [...]
