Jessica de Lima wins $375.00, a $50.00 Academy gift card, and a $10.00 Starbuck’s gift card by losing 10.05% in weight during CCHD’s 2019 Biggest Loser Competition. Lima competed against 25 other participants who signed up, but only 10 of those came to the final weigh in and had a chance to win.
The 26 participants started their journey in weight loss on January 21, 2019 by signing up and paying the $25.00 to participate. All money collected is awarded to the top three finishers, and this year we added $10.00 Starbuck’s gift cards to the top three, and a $50 Academy gift card to first place. The competition went on for about three months, ending on April 19, 2019.
All participants received a free membership to the Welch Rehab Fitness facility during the dates of the competition. A total of $625.00 was collected by those participating and awarded to the top 3 winners, each a different percentage of the total money collected.
Lima was awarded the largest amount for losing the largest percentage. Lisa Pena came in second and won $187.50 and a $10 Starbuck’s Gift Card by losing 4.95%. Mitchel Brockman finished with a close third winning $62.50 and a $10.00 Starbuck’s Gift Card with his 4.90% loss.
There was also a donation made by a participant, Jim Bradford, to the Plains Medical Foundation of $25.00 for every person who beat him in the competition. Bradford paid $25.00 for all 10 participants who finished the competition and weighed in at the end.
