Hands of Hope Hosts Second Annual Thanksgiving Dinner

Hands of Hope Hosts Second Annual Thanksgiving Day Dinner

This year the Hands of Hope 2nd Annual Thanksgiving Day dinner was dedicated to Ray Aleman, Jr.  Each year Hands of Hope selects a community member that has been an inspiration and example of leadership and selflessly serving others.  The dinner was held at the Dimmitt Expo Center from 11am - 1pm on Thanksgiving Day.

Many organizations in the community came together to make the event a great success. Thank you to the 35 plus volunteers and everyone that sent desserts and food. The Church of Christ donated 10 gallons green beans while the PMH nurses donated 10 gallons of corn.  Dressing was donated by Immaculate Conception Church and dessert and giblet gravy by First Methodist.  The Baptist Church also allowed Hands of Hope to borrow numerous large pots and serving utensils.

This year the dinner served 255 people. 124 meals were either delivered or take out.

Plans are already underway for next year.

The members of this community made the Thanksgiving Day dinner an enjoyable success! Many enjoyed the fellowship and visiting with each other.  Thank you to everyone that attended and then helped clean up at the end of the meal.
